Covid Policy

It is requested and encouraged that all participants, their family members, officials, volunteers, and vendors be fully vaccinated on or before the dates of the event. Masks are required at all venues, regardless of vaccination status. 

Athlete Check In

NEW LOCATION FOR 2022 : Athlete check in will be at the Lake Placid Center for the Arts at 17 Algonquin Drive, Lake Placid, NY 12946

Wednesday, February 2:  4:00 - 6:00 p.m.
Thursday, February 3:  10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Friday, February 4:  11:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Saturday, February 5:  9:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Sunday, February 6:  9:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

Please note: Uniform sizes are first come, first serve! The earlier you check in, the better your chances are of getting your size! PLEASE NOTE that once the jacket has been worn, they can NOT be exchanged. 

Opening Ceremony

2022 ESWG Opening Ceremony at the Public Beach on Mirror Lake featuring the Parade of Athletes, lighting of the torch, and a light show!

Thursday, February 3 at 6:30 p.m.

Athletes will line up on Parkside Drive no later that 6:15pm. We are anticipating Opening Ceremony will be approx. 35 minutes long. 

Athletes who have received their jackets may arrive at the Opening Ceremony and march in the athlete parade. Athletes MUST have their ESWG jacket on to march in the Opening Ceremony. This year, the parade of athletes will take place at the very beginning of the program, so athletes should arrive no later than 6:15 p.m.

Parents, family, friends, and spectators are invited and encouraged to attend. This year's Opening Ceremony will feature countless moments you won't want to forget, so don't forget to bring your cameras!

For parents - make a plan for connecting with your athlete following the ceremony. Athletes will be located on the ice during this year's ceremony.

After you drop your athletes off at the ceremony, proceed to the stands and be seated. We provide a large contingent of both ESWG staff and adult volunteers to help organize the athletes prior to the event. You can feel secure your child will be supervised and safe for the duration of the ceremony. Parents are not allowed to march in the parade of athletes. Volunteers march in with them, and remain with them for the duration of the ceremony as chaperones. 

Athlete Village

The 2022 Athlete Village will be in Mid's Park, on Main Street, Lake Placid. Stop down, have some hot chocolate, and get an interview with Stuart! There will also be a photo booth and give aways!
