Lake Placid to Host Expanded ESWG Village
Centralized ESWG Village Serves as Heart of the 2018 Games
LAKE PLACID, NY (December 5, 2017) – From the epicenter of Olympics past rises a new era. Located in the heart of the Olympic Village of Lake Placid, The Empire State Winter Games Village will be the focal point of the 2018 Games. In addition to hosting the ceremonial cauldron, it will also be a hub of athlete and spectator activities.
Live entertainment throughout the day – including performances by Nik and the Nice Guys and live event coverage by ESWG TV – spectator events, and samplings of regional cuisine at the “Taste of the Games” will create an atmosphere unlike any other for an expected 2,500 athletes, 5,000 friends and family members, and up to 15,000 additional spectators. It will also feature this year’s most exciting new athletic event, Bike Circuit.
